Dr Jill Riley from Cardiff University and Betsan presented preliminary results from the joint Stitchlinks and Cardiff University survey of over 3,500 knitters at an International Conference on Wellbeing in Birmingham, UK.

Professor Paul Dieppe, Director of Clinical Research at the Peninsular Medical School attended our knitting group at the pain clinic of the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Professor Dieppe is a globally recognised, award winning expert in Rheumatology particulary osteoarthritis of the knee. He is currently also undertaking a PhD on Pain and Healing.

MAY 18th - 20th 2011
International Conference on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) at The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath. Betsan attended this conference which reinforced the work being done on using knitting as a healthcare tool. She was also able to make some valuable contacts with internationally reknowned experts.
MAY 13th 2011
Betsan gave a talk to the North British Pain Association at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, Scotland on Knitting and Pain. The talk was extremely well received and some very valuable contacts were made.
APRIL 2nd - 3rd 2011
Stitchlinks were invited to have a stand at the International Conference on Transverse Myelitis which was valuable in terms of the information learned and the contacts made both with sufferers of the condition and with researchers and clinicians working in the field.
