OCTOBER 5th - Advances in Pain Medicine - Daring to be Different
Conference entitled Advances in Pain Medicine - Daring to be Different. Betsan will be giving a talk on using knitting for pain management. Conference is hosted by the East Kent Pain Services and is being held at The Ashford International Hotel, Ashford, Kent.
OCTOBER 1st - 2nd - Gansey Fest
A celebration of the Gansey sweater and tradition held by The Moray Firth Gansey Project in Inverness, Scotland. Betsan is one of the Keynote speakers and will be talking about Knitting as a Therapeutic Tool on Sunday 2nd October.
JULY 19th - International Conference for Well-being
We have had an abstract accepted for the international conference on Well-being which is being held in Birmingham UK on 18th and 19th July. We'll let you know more details as soon as we know.
JUNE 30th - Annual Conference, Occupational Therapists
We are excited to announce that we have had a paper accepted for presentation at the Annual Conference of Occupational Therapists. Dr Jill Riley from Cardiff University will present our paper on Thursday 30th in Brighton. The abstract we submitted has been highly commended and will be used as an example of how to write and submit successfull applications.
MAY 18th - 20th - International Conference on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
International speakers will be presenting the latest research at this conference at The Royal National Hosptial for Rheumatic Disease in Bath, UK.
MAY 13th - North British Pain Society Scientific Meeting
On Friday May 13th, Betsan has been invited to talk at the North British Pain Society's Scientific Meeting in Edinburgh. This represents a huge step forward in terms of recognition and acceptance of our work.
APRIL 1ST - 2ND - Transverse Myelitis Society International Conference
International Conference of the Transverse Myelitis Society at Wyboston Lakes, Bedfordshire, UK. We have been invited to have a stand at this conference, so if you suffer from Transverse Myelitis please come and say hello.

Stitchlinks has a stand at the Craft, Hobby and Stitch show. This is a show for the Trade only and takes place at the NEC from Sunday 20th February to Tuesday 22nd. We are aiming to publicise results from our online knitting survey at the show and Dr Jill Riley from Cardiff University will be joining us.

FEBRUARY 15TH - Airing Pain Internet Radio Programme
The charity Pain Concern has been making a series of radio programmes aimed at raising the profile of long-term pain and helping those with the conditon to better manage it. In December, the producer visited our group at the Pain Clinic of the Royal United Hospital in Bath to interview Betsan and members of the group. Betsan also had to teach him to knit 'on air'. We've been told that this programme is due to be aired on the internet on February 15th February at 11am and again at 8pm (UK time). It will also be available as a podcast to download to your computer. The series is entitled 'Airing Pain', and can be heard on Able Radio (www.ableradio.com). Being internet-based you should be able to listen to them directly on your computer or download as a podcast wherever you live in the world.
